Becoming B'nei Mitzvah is an ancient rite of passage that celebrates a person's relationship to Jewish text, tradition, and practice. We are very excited to offer our second ever Adult B'nei Mitzvah class in 5784. The class will meet on Tuesday nights from 6:30-8pm from November 10, 2026 through April 13, 2027. The two B'nei Mitzvah services will be held on April 17 and May 1, 2027. The class will be taught in units by Rabbi Michelle, Rabbi Ari Lev and Rabbi Mó. The curriculum will cover how to chant Torah, how to write a Dvar Torah, and the liturgy and choreography of the Torah service. Students will be invited to chant an aliyah, lead prayers, and write a Dvar Torah or Dvar Tefilah for their B'nei Mitzvah. This will be a collective and collaborative experience that will lead up to a ceremony during which everyone will have the opportunity to leyn and take on Torah service leading and/or honors, in addition to sharing their Torah.
To be eligible to join the Adult B'nei Mitzvah cohort, students must be:
